My Story:
My parents never really instilled “working out” to me and my sisters as we were growing up. We ate healthily enough, and my parents definitely kept us in check about our weight. My mom has some crazy metabolism that she didn’t hand down to me (haha), and my dad likes to keep busy…so even though they don’t work out, they’re still a couple of slim people. My sisters, growing up, were always active in some sort of sport. I wasn’t gifted with the coordination gene (although I do enjoy playing inter mural softball — I may not be any good, but I have fun.)
It wasn’t until about 2 or 3 years ago when I really decided to jump into working out. I tried to get in about 5 or 6 days a week, and did pretty well at that. But the diet was where I wasn’t pushing myself. We all wish there was a magic pill that would just shed off the fat, and bulk up our muscles, but there isn’t. It’s up to US to push our bodies to their fullest capacity.
So since my initial plunge into getting a better body, I’ve also decided to get healthy too. I’ve bumped up my workout routines (I miss working out if I’m somewhere where I’m not able to do it), I’m drinking Shakeology everyday and LOVE it, and am trying to follow a strict diet plant-based, whole-food, and low-fat.
